He added that winning the first game at the group level will boost their confidence going into the second and third good games against Iceland and Argentina respectively.
Nigeria are in Group D alongside Argentina, Iceland and Croatia and the west African country have been handed the underdog tag among the four teams in the group.
"This game is very important to us because it is very important to start winning and get a good result. We are optimistic, we want to beat Croatia,” Moses told club website.
"The most important thing is to not lose this first game because they are sometimes the most important to qualify from the group. Croatia can beat anyone but Nigeria can beat Croatia. We’ll have to make it as a team.
Moses is also banking on their team spirit from their training sessions to help them conquer the European giants.
The FA Cup winning player admits that their opponent have quality players all round every department on the pitch, but insisted that they will not be moved by the array of stars in their team.
"You can see in the training that we were doing very well. We look good at this point, we will be good in the opening game.
"Croatia is a great team with many top players. They have a particularly strong midfield and attack. The most important thing for us is to be concentrated, then we can beat Croatia."
Gernot Rohr's men wrapped up their build up games with back to back defeats to England and Czech Republic earlier this month.
However, the coach has revealed that they will return to base to correct their mistakes before real action kicks off in Russia.
