As released by Forbes, Scarlett Johansson who is known for her role in the Avengers film as the Black Widow has surpassed the likes of Emma Stone, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston to steal the spotlight and become the highest paid actress with $40.5 Million.
The recently released list by Forbes has Scarlett leading this year’s ranking with $40.5 million in pretax earnings between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018, making her highest paid actress.
While the actress didn’t feature in the Forbes list in 2017, her recent earning power has been ascribed to her role as Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With last year’s highest paid actress Emma Stone not featured on this list, we see Angelina Jolie taking the second place, with $28m, also based on her contract for the Disney sequel Maleficent II, which began shooting in May with a projected release date of May 2020.
Also Friends star actress, Jennifer Aniston is third with $19.5m, which according to Forbes, is less for her acting earnings than for endorsements for brands such as Emirates, SmartWater and Aveeno.
