Surprise, horror as 5 tenants reportedly defile, impregnate landlord’s 12-year-old daughter

prosecution witness, Sergeant Idowu Afeez, on Monday, June 11, told the Lagos high court sitting at Igbosere how two tenants raped and impregnated their late Landlord’s 12-year-old daughter.

Sergeant Idowu made the allegation before Justice Sedoten Ogunsanya during the trial of two of the suspects, Shaibu Isiaka and John Obah.
The Nation reports that Isiaka, 30, and Obah, 34, were brought by the police before a Yaba magistrates’ court in 2014 on a two-count charge of conspiracy and unlawful sexual intercourse.
NAIJ.com gathered that the case was transferred to the high court, following which it was taken over by the Lagos state government.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty.
Idowu, who was led in evidence by prosecution counsel, Adebayo Haroun, testified that the girl, in company of her mother identified Isiaka and Obah among the five men who allegedly defiled her on separate occasions.
Idowu said: “The girl said that whenever she was sent to buy things like sweet, the first defendant Isiaka, usually asked her to keep the change and that whenever her mother was not around, the first defendant would have sexual intercourse with her on her mother’s matrimonial bed.
“She said that Obah, the second defendant, was the first person to defile her. She was 12 years old when they defiled and impregnated her.”
He alleged that the defendants, without coercion, admitted the crime at the Police Divisional Headquarters at Oworonshoki.
“During the investigation, Obah admitted that he had sexual intercourse with the victim, he also claimed that when he discovered that she was having sexual intercourse with the first defendant and his brothers, he left her,” Idowu added.
He told Justice Ogunsanya that Isiaka also admitted that he and his brothers, who were squatting with him, had sexual intercourse with the girl.
Idowu further said: “When we discovered that the girl’s stomach began to protrude, the police gave her mother a letter to take to a hospital, where a test confirmed that she was pregnant.”
Following the conclusion of the examination-in-chief, Justice Ogunsanya adjourned till October 9, for continuation of trial.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Utese village in Ovia northeast local government area of Edo state was thrown into confusion after two female tenants identified simply as Mercy and Rose, allegedly disappeared with two children of their landlord.
The children were left in the custody of the tenants by their mother who went to the stream to wash her clothes before they were allegedly whisked away by the tenants.
The names of the missing children were given as Amada, aged four, and Christabel, aged two, both female.
The tenants alleged to have kidnapped the kids are said to hail from Cross River state.
