EPL: Kepa’s first game for Chelsea, shirt number revealed
Chelsea has revealed that their new world-record goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga is eligible to play against Huddersfield on Saturday.
The 23-year-old completed his record move from Athletic Bilbao to Chelsea on Wednesday night.
Kepa arrived as the club’s record signing and the most expensive stopper in world football.
The Spaniard replaces Thibaut Courtois who moved over to Real Madrid.
Kepa has also taken over the No.1 jerysey at the Stamford Bridge.
The Blues kick off their season this weekend at Huddersfield.
A Chelsea statement read, “Kepa, who is eligible to play in Saturday’s Premier League opener against Huddersfield, will train with his new team-mates for the first time tomorrow.”
Kepa arrives in a £71.8million deal after Chelsea paid the Spaniard’s release clause in his Athletic Bilbao contract.
